LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Here are 10 things Kentuckiana will be talking about today:

1. Snowy night - Snow showers mixing with rain will be moving through WAVE Country today. Lower temperatures tonight could leave some light accumulation for your Friday morning commute.  

2. Cashion's past - The teen accused of firing a flare into a home causing a deadly fire was arrested in December for attempting to steal flares from a New Albany Walmart.

3. Marijuana support – A Republican senator gave advice to supporters of legalizing marijuana at the Capitol Wednesday. Sen. Julie Denton, R-Louisville, repeatedly told advocates that focusing their efforts on legalizing cannabis oil, which supporters said could treat epilepsy and seizures without any psychotic effects, was smart politically.

4. Casino dreams – Advocates for bringing casino gaming to Kentucky feel that 2014 is their best shot for the proposal. After years of ‘no', many are hoping a ‘yes' could bring eight casinos to the commonwealth.

5. Volunteer dismissed – A dedicated volunteer for Louisville Metro Animal Services was dismissed after posting videos of shelter dogs on Facebook.  Briana Holloway thought she was helping dogs get adopted, but the animal shelter says she was in violation of volunteer procedures.

6. Hubbard's Lane – Hubbard's Lane in St. Matthews is set to be expanded in order to bring more ease to the traffic plan and increase adequate travel lanes for shoppers looking to patron St. Matthews's businesses. Several ideas for the expansion are being discussed and residents have mixed emotions.

7. Safe water- West Virginia urged residents not to drink the water and Cincinnati closed their valves, but Louisville Water Company insists the city is safe and residents shouldn't be worried.

8. Pass the Cash - Phyllis is use to caring for others, but Meredith explained due to her failing health she has no choice but to depend on those who can help her. Check out her story here.

9. Oscar Orchestra – One of the biggest names in music and film is helping rev up The Louisville Orchestra. 5-time Academy Award winner John Williams will lead the orchestra Saturday night bringing renewal and excitement for the future.

10. Bridge blasting – Blasting to prepare for the new tunnel in east Louisville is scheduled today at about 11:30 a.m. and again at around 2:15 p.m. Traffic on KY 841 and U.S. 42 will be stopped before and during the blasting events. Blasting is also scheduled to prepare for the East End Crossing in Indiana on Utica-Sellersburg Road, near the Brookhollow subdivision around 4 p.m. which will affect traffic.
