LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Several Louisville residents were arrested after a January 8 robbery ended with one man shot.

According to arrest reports, the four suspects, Christopher Cox, 33, Matthew Nevitt, 26, John Casey, 32, and Shandi Embry, 28, drove to the victim's home on S. 3rd Street with the intent to rob him.

The arrest slip states that Embry knew the victim and was invited in when she knocked on his door. Cox and Casey then apparently rushed in the door armed with a handgun. Cox then demanded money and drugs before shooting the victim in the chest.

The three stole a man's watch, Zanax pills and $40 from the victim before fleeing the scene. Officers said Nevitt was waiting in a black Ford to drive away from the house.

Two of the defendants, Nevitt and Embry, positively identified Cox as the shooter when arrested on January 15.

Nevitt is being charged with first degree robbery. Embry is being charged with first degree robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia because she had a needle, spoon and band in her purse upon arrest.

Cox was arrested on January 16 at his home on Grafton Hill Road. Upon arrest, detectives used a search warrant to check the property. According to the arrest report, officers found a large amount of meth, a bag of heroin, two loaded syringes, a bottle of steroids and digital scales.

Four other people were arrested at Cox's home: Ronald Maddox, 48, Jason Robertson, 36, Anthony Jaggers, 46, and his wife, Michelle Burger, 33. They were all charged with several counts of trafficking a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia charges.

Cox is being charged with attempted murder, robbery, trafficking a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a handgun by a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
