LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - An Illinois man who told police he'd come from a bachelor party is accused of breaking into a Louisville school early Sunday morning.

According to an arrest report, a police officer saw Casey T. Shultz, 33, of Goreville, Illinois jump through a broken window at Lincoln Elementary School at 930 E. Main Street just before 1:30 Sunday morning. The officer said Shultz ended up in the school's main office.

After he was detained, Shultz told the officer, "I have been drinking beer at Beerstown Road for my bachelor party," according to the arrest report. He also stated that he broke out windows of the school to get help because someone was trying to kill him, the officer said.

Multiple windows were broken out of the front of the building, the front desk was damaged and a statue was smashed in the main office, the report states, adding that Shultz smelled strongly of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet.

JCPS officials responded to the scene, according to the arrest report.

Shultz is charged with third-degree burglary and public intoxication.
