LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Orange bicycles chained to several posts in St. Matthews had many people wondering why they were there.

Around 20 bikes were chained to poles along Shelbyville Road on Friday by the owners of a new gym opening in the area.

Billy Davis and his wife are opening an Orange Theory Fitness franchise and were hoping to create a buzz using the bikes.

The Chief Code Enforcement Officer for the City of St. Matthews, Jack Ruf, said the city received complaints about the bikes.

Davis said they did not want to create a nuisance and the bikes were removed Sunday night. Orange Theory Fitness is scheduled to open in May. To learn more, click here.
