LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man has been arrested on charges that he stole items from a rental house that he was being evicted from and sold them for scrap.

An arrest warrant states Christopher D. Gibson, 36, took the down spouts, central air conditioning unit, window air conditioning unit and parts from the furnace to a recycling center where he sold them for scrap.

The landlord discovered the items missing when he went to inspect the property as part of the eviction. Metro Police were able to get copies of the transaction ticket from the recycling center, along with Gibson's ID and a photo of him at the cashier's window of the scrap yard.

Gibson is charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500.
