LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – While opening a business Friday morning, an employee was robbed and shot.

The suspect, a black male dressed in dark clothing, fled the scene with some cash.

Ben Jackey with JCPS said nearby Valley High School enforced extra security for about 25 minutes around the time of the incident. They were not on lockdown, just a higher level of security including monitoring movement in the halls and the entrance to the school.

Valley High School has returned to normal.
