LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man is facing charges that he left his young son home alone on two occasions.
Brian R. Milliner, 25, was served with a criminal complaint to appear in court.
The summons says Milliner pulled into the driveway of his home at the same time as a friend. When the friend asked Milliner where the child was, Milliner said he had left in the crib inside the house while he ran to the liquor store.
The friend left the house and later returned to find the child asleep in the crib, but Milliner was not home. When the friend called Milliner to find out where he was Milliner said he was about 20 minutes away and begged the friend not to call police. However, the friend told Milliner he had already done so.
While police were at the home, Milliner sent the friend several texts. He also called a family member to come get the child.
During phone conversations with police, Milliner told then this was the first time he had ever left the child alone.
Milliner will appear in court on a charged of abandonment of a minor on February 10.
