LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – When Louisville Metro police were called to investigate a burglary in progress they didn't have to look far to find their suspect.
Police were called to a home the 5300 block of Tahia Drive around 3:15 a.m. February 3. The son of the homeowner told officers he awoke to hear a door shutting and footsteps in the house. When he looked outside, prints were found in the snow leading to the back door. Officers followed the prints, which led next door, and spoke with Michael J. Burba, a neighbor to the home where the burglary was reported.
Burba, 23, admitted to police he used a credit card to open the back door. Once inside, Burba said he went to the homeowners bedroom, grabbed her purse and took a credit card and cash before going back to his home.
