Christie Dutton says light freezing drizzle and flurries possible today

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The roads are slushy and the ice has brought down some trees on roads which will affect your morning commute.

Temperatures will be slowly dropping today which could bring in some very light freezing drizzle and a few flurries. The cooling temperatures could refreeze untreated roads, as well, so slick travel could be an issue throughout the day.

We will see some sunshine tomorrow, but it will stay cold. Our next round of snow arrives during the weekend.

The Winter Storm caused quite a mess Tuesday night. Ice accumulations have been on the order of 1/4" to 1/3" in the Metro and surrounding areas. Many power outages and down trees and limbs have been reported. That will likely continue today as we will not see any more warming over the next 24 hours.
