LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Here are 10 things Kentuckiana will be talking about today:

1. Icy mess – WAVE Country is waking up to slushy roads, trees down and power outages from ice accumulation. Find out what to expect today. The WAVE 3 News Storm Tracking Team will keep you up to date through the week.

2. State of Emergency – A State of Emergency is in effect for Washington County, Indiana. No one should be on the road unless you are essential personnel.

3. School closings – Several schools and business are closed or on a delay this morning. Take a look at the full list to see if it impacts your day.

4. Power outages – The storm knocked out power to many across WAVE Country. As of 7 a.m., more than 11,000 customers in Jefferson County are still without power.

5. Ice brings trees down – By 3:45 a.m., Metrosafe reported about 60 trees down in Louisville. One of those caused the evacuation of 18 apartments.

7. UofL basketball – Louisville (18-4) takes on Houston (11-11) in Texas at 9 tonight. One Cardinal player won't make the trip because of an injury.

8. Distracted driving – In Kentucky, distracted driving causes more accidents than drinking and driving. But when it comes to distracted driving and police officers, they don't always practice what they preach.

9. Leaving a trail – If there's one thing this weather is good for, it's helping lead police right to careless criminals. Police followed snowy footprints to arrests in three crimes.

10. Bridge blasting – Tunnel and surface blasting to prepare for the new tunnel in east Louisville are scheduled to continue today. Each week there's major construction going on related to the bridges project, make sure you Know Before You Go.
