The University of Cincinnati has officially announced the hire of Mike Bohn as its new athletic director.
Bohn would replace Whit Babcock, who left for the same position last month at Virginia Tech.
Bohn most recently was athletic director at Colorado and also worked as an AD at San Diego State and Idaho. He was instrumental in Colorado's conference move to the PAC 12.
Bohn does have ties to Ohio. He completed his master's degree in sports administration at Ohio University.
UC announced the new hire at an 'Athletic Press Conference' on Thursday evening.
University President Santa J. Ono tweeted Thursday morning about the event, saying "Looking forward to this evening's major press conference at 5 p.m. about our Athletic Director search."
