LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder after firing shots that left two men wounded.

An arrest warrant says the shootings happened on February 2 on 26th Street. Police say three men were walking northbound on 26th Street when they were approached by James Marvin Weston III, 18, and two other men yet to be identified when Weston and his companions drew guns and opened fire.

Two men were shot in the legs and taken to University Hospital for treatment. The third man was not wounded, but was able to identify Weston as one of those who fired on the group.

Some of the shots fired by Weston and his companions went through the window of an apartment and lodged in a wall.

Weston was arrested February 5 on three counts of attempted murder and two counts of wanton endangerment.
