LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A woman from Russia is facing drug trafficking charges after she was found to be in possession of high grade marijuana.
Ekaterina A. Yakhina, 26, was arrested February 5 at the Greyhound Bus Station on W. Muhammad Ali. Blvd. A search warrant executed on Yakhina's belongings uncovered approximately 20 pounds of high grade marijuana hidden inside a bongo drum.
Yakhina had arrived in Louisville on a bus from California accompanied by a boyfriend who fled the scene. She told police he was in the U. S. illegally.
Louisville Metro Police arrested Yakhina on charges of trafficking in marijuana. She was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections and scheduled to be arraigned on February 6.
