Woman who deliberately drove into Etown Kroger arraigned

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) – It was a scary and dangerous scene at an Elizabethtown Kroger Wednesday afternoon when police say a woman intentionally drove her car into the store injuring two people.

June Blocker, 52, was arraigned Thursday morning in Hardin County by video link from the detention center. Her public defender asked the judge to release Blocker saying she was not a risk to the public. Judge Kimberly Shumate denied the request basing her decision on Blocker's current charges criminal history.

Blocker allegedly told police after the crash she had taken several prescription pills.

"The DRE performed an evaluation on blocker," Judge Shumate told the court. "Blocker had advised that she had taken three deprico and other prescription medications early on that date."

Blocker is charged with DUI, 2 counts of assault, criminal mischief and two counts of wanton endangerment. She being held on a $50,000 cash bond and was ordered to stay away from Kroger stores, driving and alcohol.

Blocker told the judge she could hire an attorney. Her next court date is February 14.
