BOWLING GREEN, KY (WAVE) - A building on the campus of Western Kentucky University experienced severe flooding.
The ground floor of the Cravens Library filled up with over 1 1/2 inches of water. The building temporarily houses the Student Activities Office.
Staff from WKU facilities department arrived around 6 a.m. to begin pumping the water out of the building.
"We probably got several gallons of water out of the building, out of our area within about an hour, an hour and 15 minutes," said Charlie Pride, director of WKU student activities, "so at least you can walk and its still damp. We have dryers and stuff going on."
Maintenance teams will begin to remove mold once the facility completely dries. The Student Activities Office will move to garret ballroom until their permanent facility is complete at the Student Union.
