OUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Kosair Charities celebrated the life of Dr. James Hurt Saturday.

Hurt was one of the first "Kosair Kids" and continued a relationship with the organization for nearly 90 years. Early in life, Hurt was treated at the Kosair Crippled Children Hospital and grew up to be a generous partner in the mission to provide a brighter future for the children in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

The service to honor him was at the Kosair Charities Main Campus on Eastern Parkway.
