LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The ramp from northbound Interstate 65 to westbound Interstate 64 reopened to traffic at 1 p.m. Monday after repairs on a deteriorated support column were completed.

The ramp closed February 1 to allow Walsh Construction Company to begin the repairs. Walsh is the leader of the Design-Build Team that is building the Downtown Crossing.

According to a press release from the Ohio River Bridges Project, crews removed the deteriorated concrete, replaced damaged steel rebar and poured a new layer of concrete around the column to encase the repaired core.

The entire ramp will be torn down and replaced in 2015 as part of the reconstruction of the Kennedy Interchange, which is a major part of the Downtown Crossing project.
