LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Winter Olympics continue today in Sochi, Russia and on NBC and WAVE 3 News! Here are five things you need to know about the games:

1. One last chance – Shaun White and Shani Davis both entered Sochi with the same chance for history. No American male has won the same event at three consecutive Winter Olympics, and both athletes had that opportunity, as did Seth Wescott, who didn't qualify for the Games. Read how Shani is feeling ahead of his chance today.

2. Good sportsmanship – Shaun White failed to make history, but he was a good sport about it. The most well-known rider in snowboarding finished fourth, missing the podium in the men's halfpipe.

3. Bronze feels like gold – For Erin Hamlin, her bronze medal in singles luge feels like gold. She slid into history and broke a 50-year U.S. drought in the sport.

4. A first for women – 90 years after men first competed in ski jumping at the inaugural Winter Games, women flew through the air for a chance at gold.
