CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Three new hotels are set to open in downtown in the next year.

$29 million has been put in to constructing the Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites inside the former Cincinnati Enquirer building at 617 Vine Street. The building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was recently purchased by the Hotel management and development firm SREE.

The Hampton Inn will house 144 rooms, and Homewood Suites will have 105. Cole and Russell, the firm behind the hotel architecture, describe the finished produce as a "contemporary interior with an eclecticism that makes it comfortable."

The two hotels will create 35 permanent full time jobs, 20 permanent part time jobs, and 80 temporary construction jobs. They are expected to open by early 2015.

The third hotel set to open is The Renaissance. It has been under construction since the summer of 2013 and will open it's doors in July.

"Unique and inviting surroundings that include upscale restaurants infused with local flavor," is how The Renaissance is described on its website. The hotel will also have spaces to accommodate events and meetings.

There are over 3,000 hotel rooms in downtown, according to Cincinnati Visitors Bureau. As of November 2013, CVB says downtown hotels have a 61.9% occupancy rate. They say they have developed an aggressive plan to meet the demand to fill the hotels and that this surge of hotel developments is a reflection on the awareness of Cincinnati.

The CVB highlights Cincinnati as going through a renaissance of new developments and call this time a "game-changing era in our region's history."
