Mother accused of buying heroin for teen son; both facing charges

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville mother is accused of buying drugs for her teenage son to use.

Police said Colleen M. Carroll, 35, paid a woman $40 for heroin for her son's use while he sat in the car outside KMart at Poplar Level Road and Taylor Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

According to arrest reports, Carroll told police her son, 19-year-old Mark Wilson, has a heroin problem. 

The arresting officers said Wilson was cutting two pieces of heroin with his mother's driver's license when they approached the car.

Carroll is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and failure to produce an insurance card.

Wilson is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
