LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The Debauchees entered The Setlist studio looking about as green as they come, but what you may not expect from this group of fresh 20-year-olds is they're quickly earning the respect of the Louisville music community.
With a style they describe on the band's Facebook page as "funky spunk rock," their sound is contagious. It's hard to believe that just a few years ago they didn't even know how to play their instruments.
Their debut album, Big Machines and Peculiar Beings, was released in November 2013 and has been receiving praise from local music critics ever since.
If you like what you hear, head to Zanzabar (2100 S Preston St) Saturday, February 15 to see them live, performing alongside The Pass. Doors open at 8 p.m. for the 21 and over only show. Tickets are $10.
Band members from left to right: Ashley Bowen, bass; Cameron Lowe, percussion; and Sydney Chadwick, vocals/guitar.
The Setlist is a collaboration between WFPK Music Director Kyle Meredith and WAVE 3 News Producer Laurel Mallory with videography and editing by Chris Witzke. It airs every Sunday morning on WAVE 3 News Weekend Sunrise.
