LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A young artist is capturing the love between pets and their owners.

After she lost her cat and dog last year due to illnesses, Halle Shoaf, 8, decided to cope with her grief by painting portraits for donations to the Arrow Fund.

Her work was displayed Sunday during an art show at the Spetz Gallery.

She's painted nearly 30 portraits and raised almost $500 dollars. Because of Shoaf's dedication, the Arrow Fund has decided to form a ‘Teen Arrow' club for young people which allows them to earn service hour credit by volunteering.
