Man who delivered prostitute to meeting facing drug charges

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man who delivered a prostitute to a meeting where she was arrested by Louisville Metro Police was himself arrested while waiting for her.

Around 11 p.m. February 18, undercover detectives conducting a prostitution sting at the Days Inn in the 2900 block of Fern Valley Road when they said Rodney C. McNeary, 35, of Louisville, bring the prostitute to the motel. Detectives said McNeary waited with his vehicle running for the woman to come back.

While he was waiting, detectives went to speak with McNeary and asked him to step out of the car. Police asked McNeary what he was holding in his left hand, but he refused to show them. Detectives then said McNeary threw what he was holding to the ground at his feet in plain view of officers.

What McNeary threw to the ground turned out to be a "large piece of heroin and 40 Xanax pills packaged for sale." The arrest report says marijuana was found during a search of the vehicle.

McNeary was arrested on two counts of trafficking in a controlled substances and possession of marijuana. He is scheduled to be arraigned on February 20.
