An Evansville woman tells 14 News someone threw a Molotov cocktail at her car.
The victim says she was just doing laundry around midnight on Tuesday when she heard what she thought was ice cracking.
But when she came outside, she saw the glass in her windshield was broken.
A large chunk of concrete was thrown through her back windshield.
She also smelled something sweet, similar to rubbing alcohol, but it had almost a flowery scent to it.
Around the front side of the car, she saw two pieces of a broken glass bottle.
Police say it was a Molotov cocktail.
A portion of the rag was singed, but didn't actually catch fire.
Had the Molotov cocktail functioned as intended, the victim tells us her whole car would have exploded.
"At first it was terrifying, complete up and down roller coaster. For about 20 minutes until they had more information, there was an anonymous tip that came in and more information came out. I was informed that I was not the target. But for that time when I thought I was the target, I was terrified," the victim says.
Evansville police tell 14 News they don't have any suspects or leads in this case.
