Sunrise to Go: Olympics Edition - Thursday, February 20

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Here are five things Kentuckiana will be talking about today:

1. Severe weather threat -- After weeks of snow, ice and bitter cold comes spring-like weather today, and that includes the threat of damaging winds and tornadoes tonight. WAVE 3 News Storm Tracking Team Meteorologist Christie Dutton is keeping an eye to the sky as the temperature soars toward 70 degrees, leading to very unsettled weather.

2. Kentucky Derby Festival kick-off -- With 72 days until the Run for the Roses, the Kentucky Derby Festival will unveil this year's Pegasus Pin and official poster and merchandise line during two separate events today. WAVE 3 News will show off the items on the Derby Digital Guide at later today.

3. UPS plane crash hearing -- Pilot fatigue is among several issues investigators will look into as possible factors in the August crash of a UPS cargo jet in Birmingham. The flight originated at Louisville International Airport. WAVE 3 News Anchor Janelle MacDonald will be covering the hearing live from Washington, D.C. today. 4. Stabbing suspect in Louisville? -- A manhunt is underway after two Bowling Green residents were stabbed Tuesday night, and police believe the suspect may be in Louisville. 45-year-old Terry Coleman has family in Jefferson County. Click here for more information about this crime.

5. Digging for clues -- Crews, including cadaver dogs, will continue searching a plot of land in Elizabethtown where a body may be buried. Police say they received a tip about a possible body on the property last week.

The Winter Olympics continue today in Sochi, Russia and on NBC and WAVE 3 News! Here are five things you need to know about the games:

1. Ladies figure skating -- Not a single American woman placed in the top three at the end of the ladies' short program Wednesday, but they still have a podium shot today during the gold medal final.

2. Women's hockey clash -- The women's hockey game everyone has been waiting for has nearly arrived. Canada and the United States will face off today in the gold medal game. Catch up on what's happened in the competition up until now by clicking here.

3. Wild wins -- For only the second time in history, a husband and wife earned medals Wednesday in the same Winter Olympics event. Vic Wild and Alena Zavarzina earned the gold and bronze respectively for Russia in the men's and women's parallel giant slalom races. What's more, Wild is from the United States and became a Russian citizen just two-and-a-half years ago after losing the support of the U.S. snowboarding program. 4. Ligety split -- Ted Ligety made history on Wednesday by winning the giant slalom, becoming the first American man to win two Olympic gold medals in Alpine skiing.

5.
