LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he used a stolen government fuel card to fill his tank.
Derrick J. Sheppard, 25, was arrested February 20. Police say Sheppard used a Fleet One fuel card that was taken from a Louisville Metro government vehicle on nine occasions.
After his last fill up on February 17, police said Sheppard gave the card to someone and asked them to hold onto to it for him.
His arrest report says Sheppard is charged with nine counts of theft by unlawful taking, one count of tampering with physical evidence and one count of receiving stolen property. Louisville Metro Corrections records also show charges for assault-domestic violence and receiving a stolen firearm.
