Swimmers put cans, community ahead of competition

The Lakeside Seahawks hosted 10 regional teams for the fourth annual Dare to Care Winter Invitational at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center. The Lakeside Seahawks hosted 10 regional teams for the fourth annual Dare to Care Winter Invitational at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Swimmers came together to benefit the community during a competition Friday.

The Lakeside Seahawks hosted 10 regional teams for the fourth annual Dare to Care Winter Invitational at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center.

Each swimmer was encouraged to bring two canned goods to benefit the Dare to Care Food Bank.

During the 2013 event the swimmers helped donate 650 pounds of food to help people in need.
