4 injured in Carroll County crash identified

CARROLLTON, KY (WAVE) – Four people who were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Carroll Country Wednesday have been identified.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Brad Arterburn said at 11:36 a.m. Donald Jefferies, 50, of Goshen, Kentucky, was driving eastbound on Highway 36 when his vehicle crossed the line and crashed head-on with a vehicle heading westbound.

Stephen Wise, 37, was driving the car hit by Jefferies' vehicle. Nicole Wise, 34, and a juvenile were in the vehicle with Stephen Wise.

According to Trooper Arterburn, Jefferies was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transported by ambulance to the Carroll County Memorial Hospital. He was then flown by the Air Care helicopter to University of Cincinnati Hospital.

Stephen Wise and Nicole Wise were flown to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. The juvenile passenger was flown to Kosair Children's Hospital.

Arterburn said all four of the people involved in the crash are considered to have life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
