The fire, which firefighters believe started in the kitchen, spread to the attic and destroyed the restaurant.

The owner of the restaurant, Sam Anderson, said the restaurant will reopen in Clarksville at the historic plantation mansion on Lewis and Clark Parkway.

"We're going to be opening in Clarksville in April we hope at least temporarily if not permanently, we don't know yet.  We're still figuring if we're gonna rebuild or move. Today is progress, I call it," said Anderson.

Sam's second location in Floyds Knobs remains open.
