ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) – An Elizabethtown man was found guilty on charges he raped a victim under the age of 12 on Wednesday.

Alfred Charles Ivey is accused of raping the victim for more than five years and fathering her child.

Kentucky State Police said a woman who lived at the Elizabethtown home with Ivey as a juvenile from 1999 until 2004 told them Ivey forcibly raped her repeatedly during that time. She gave birth to a child in 2004 when she was 13 years old and did not disclose the abuse or the identity of the child's father until recently.

A KSP spokesperson said that a paternity test revealed that Ivey fathered the child.

Police said Ivey is not related to the victim.

Hardin County Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Teresa Logsdon who worked the case recommended life in prison due to the severity of the crimes.

A formal sentencing for Ivey has not been scheduled.
