LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police have arrested one of two people believed to be involved in the robbery at gunpoint of a woman who had just left a convenience store.

The robbery happened on November 2, 2013 shortly after the victim had left a Short Stop Food Mart in the 3900 block of Craig Ave. As she walked home the victim said she was followed by two teenagers who had been in the store. The woman told police the men approached her from behind, pointed a silver handgun at her and took $180.

Police checked video from the store and an officer who patrols the area was able to identify Calvin Tachaun Birdsong as one of the men involved.

Birdsong, 18, who was already being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on burglary, wanton endangerment and assault – domestic violence charges, was charged February 26 on one count of robbery.
