LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A rapper who's no stranger to the Louisville area and his son will soon star in their own reality show.

Television cameras will now be a part of daily life for Master P and his son Lil' Romeo.

Master P has become an advocate and philanthropist in Louisville to curb violence. Thursday he was at the YMCA, located on Chestnut Street, to announce a new initiative called Let the Kids Grow.

As part of the initiative the show will feature children in Louisville, as well as let them help with the production.

"It's about changing lives. It's about saving live. It's about education," said Master P.

Master P was also recognized by the University of Louisville Athletic Foundation at the KFC Yum! Center Thursday night for his efforts working with youth in the community.
