Kevin Harned continues to track a potential winter storm this weekend

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A few single digits can't be ruled out early Friday. With sunny skies to start and dry air in place highs will push into the lower 40s. Friday night will feature a small chance for a rain shower or even a snow shower north.  No problems are expected from that system.

Saturday looks mild with highs pushing 50 degrees with some light rain at times. Ice (freezing rain and sleet) appear likely across portions of the viewing area - at this point it's too early to tell when and where the transition zone will be - though it will be critical. This will all end as snow on Monday.

You'll want to stay tuned for updates on this storm as amounts could be significant.
