Woman charged with assault on fiance

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – When Louisville Metro police officers were sent just after midnight February 28 to W. Main Street about a person assaulted they found a man who had been beaten and had injuries to his face. He told police the person who did it was the woman he was planning to marry.

The man told police he had been hit in the face twice with a closed fist, then by a metal ratchet strap. He also told police his fiance was still at the location where the assault happened. Police found Alexa D. Pfohl, 24, standing next a pickup truck belonging to the victim.

According to officers, there was a large amount of blood in the passenger compartment of the truck and the metal ratchet strap was in the back seat. They also said Pfohl smelled strongly of alcohol and had slurred speech. After being read her rights Pfohl said she didn't remember what happened that lead to the assault.

Pfohl was booked at Louisville Metro Corrections on charges of assault - domestic violence and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
