LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two men accused of breaking into dozens of vehicles faced a judge Friday morning.

James Kapetanios, 24, and Michael Smith, 21, both pleaded not guilty to the 29 charges against them for their roles in break-ins which happened between November 1, 2013 and February 26 2014.

Arrest warrants for Kapetanios and Smith stated the charges placed against each man were five counts of theft of motor vehicle registration plates, 21 counts of theft by unlawful taking, one count of theft of a firearm, one count of fraudulent use of a credit card and one count of burglary.

In five cases police said the license plates were stolen from the vehicles, while property was taken on 21 occasions. In addition, a gun was taken from one vehicle.

The warrant said video showed a credit card taken during one of the break-ins being used and the men are accused of breaking into a warehouse.

Kapetanios and Smith were booked into Louisville Metro Corrections early February 27.
