HELTONVILLE, IN (WAVE) – Three teenagers have been taken into custody after a man's body was discovered by a family member Thursday evening.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, investigators responded to a home on Dutch Ridge Road outside Heltonville, Indiana at 9:42 p.m. Thursday after the family member called 911. Inside the home officers found the body of Rodney Allender, 43.
On Friday, police ruled Allender's death a homicide after an autopsy concluded he died from blunt force trauma.
On Saturday officers said they had arrested Austin M. Curtis, 18, of Bedford, Indiana in connection to Allender's death and were looking for two other teenagers, Taylor M. Flynn, 19, of Bedford, and a 16-year old juvenile. Later that evening, Flynn and the 16-year-old police were searching for were located in Ohio and taken into custody.
Sheriff Craig said investigators believe the motive behind Allender's murder was robbery, because money and firearms were taken from the home.
