LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A teenager who was found not guilty for the murder of his stepbrother will not be cleared of charges.

Tuesday Judge Barry Willett denied the motion filed by Josh Young's attorney's to expunge the charges of murder and tampering with evidence in the May 2011 beating death of Trey Zwicker.

Young was arrested one month after Zwicker's body was discovered behind Liberty High School based on statements made by Young's father and Zwicker's stepfather Josh Gouker. One year later, police arrested Gouker who admitted to the charges against him without a plea deal.

Judge Willett sentenced Gouker to life in prison on July 26, 2013.

Young was acquitted of the charges on August 9, 2013.
