Christian Academy girl's basketball coach resigns

Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL) announces the resignation of head girls' basketball coach, Don Rice.  Coach Rice led the program for the last fourteen years.

"I have been blessed to be the head coach of Christian Academy of Louisville. I will always remember the players I've had the privilege of coaching and the people who I now call my friends.  After discussing the program with Darin Long (Director of Athletics), I have decided to step down and pursue other options.  I know the next head coach will be blessed with these players and parents.  It has always been special to be a coach here at CAL.  I wish them the very best," said Coach Rice.

"Coach Rice has built our girls' basketball program into one of the most consistent and successful in the state.  He has helped our players to go on and play at the next level as well as a mentor to all.  The school cannot thank him enough for his time, vision, and dedication," said Darin Long.

Coach Don Rice's accomplishments while at CAL include the following:

  • 297-131 Record
  • 2 Sweet 16 State Tournament appearances
