Police: Mother smoked marijuana with child in backseat of car

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville woman was arrested for smoking marijuana with her child in the back seat breathing in the smoke.
According to reports, detectives with the Louisville Metro Police VIPER unit approached Sharicka Hearm, 25, while she was sitting in the passenger seat of the car in the 1700 block of Liberty Bell Way on March 6. When Hearm opened the door officers there was a strong smell of marijuana, a small bag on the seat and a freshly burnt marijuana cigarette in the ashtray.
Detectives said Hearm's three year old son was in the back seat breathing fumes and smoke from the marijuana. A search found five hydrocodone pills in Hearm's jacket pocket along with a bottle in the car door pocket that contained an unknown fluid.
Hearm is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and controlled substance endangerment to a child.
