Goochland Co. extends school year to make up snow days

GOOCHLAND, VA (WWBT) -

Goochland County has extended the school year by a week to make up snow days used this year.

The last day of school was originally scheduled for May 30. Schools will now end on June 6. The SOLs and final exams will also be pushed back a week.

Elementary schools will also extend their school days to meet the minimum instructional time. School will begin at 8:20 a.m. and end at 3:15 p.m., adding an extra 25 minutes, starting on Monday.

Goochland Schools made the decision Tuesday night at the school board meeting.
