Cards advance to AAC final after 94-65 win over Houston

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The University of Louisville Cardinals will compete in the AAC Championship after beating the University of Houston Cougars with a final score of 94-65 in the AAC semifinal in Memphis Friday.

While the Cards have been red hot, coming off a 61 point win on Thursday, ahead of Friday's match up UofL head coach Rick Pitino said, "I've always believed this, if you can get your team to respect everybody the same way, regardless of their record, regardless of what they're doing, in terms of preparation, in terms of how you go about it, and these guys have been able to do it."

UofL senior Luke Hancock said his strategy going into the game was "Just to execute, play our brand of defense, you know, make our press effective and win, that's your main goal, we got a lot of little side goals, but we want to win the game."

The Cards were up 47-32 at the half. They will now advance to the AAC Final where they will take on either Cincinnati or Connecticut at 6 p.m. in Memphis.
