LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Sunday's weather was hard to believe, or at least swallow, after a warm and sunny Saturday.
"Yesterday I was outside working in a T-shirt, sweating, and today, locked up inside," Tony Argento said.
It was a windy afternoon filled with cold rain, sleet and then the snow.
At 4 p.m. state salt crews punched into work and started putting the plows and the salt spreaders back on their trucks. By 6 p.m., they were salting roads, a sight some are over.
"It's disappointment," Darien Tatgenharc said. "I mean, we want to see some more of that warmer weather."
The wrecks began after the snow started falling. One car slid into a ditch on the Gene Snyder near Beulah Church Road. Over on I-64 near the Watterson, three cars were lined up on the side of the highway.
Another driver told us he had to swerve to avoid hitting them. The snow itself, though, didn't last.
One man said he was happy to be back in Louisville after a trip to western New York where he was stuck in a blizzard.
"It's cold there again, but I'm just glad to be back here in the, I guess, mild winter you guys are having," Lee Eck explained.
It proved to be yet another snowy Sunday as a countdown continues towards warmer weather.
"I'm from southern California," Argento said. "So I'm not used to this weather. Definitely ready for the 80 degree weather we are supposed to get on Friday."
