TOLEDO, OH (WOIO) -

The Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper who was injured in the multi-vehicle wreck on the turnpike earlier this month is improving.

Trooper Andrew Clouser has been moved from the ICU at Toledo St. Vincent's and is currently recovering there.

Clouser underwent surgery for his broken femur on Saturday and is expected to be able to start physical therapy in 12 weeks.

The 29-year-old is expected to make a full recovery and return to work at some point.

Clouser was pinned between two vehicles on the turnpike during the snow storm on March 12.

Crashes stretched over a mile and involved more than 40 vehicles between milepost 101 and 102 in Sandusky County.

The crash remains under investigation.
