Assistant fire chief dies

LAWRENCEBURG, IN (WAVE) – The assistant chief of the Bright Fire Department in Lawrenceburg has died of a heart attack.

Tom Stevens, Sr. died just hours after returning from an emergency involving a carbon monoxide alarm activation. His death is considered to have been in the line of duty. Stevens was 59 years old.

He is survived by his wife Debbie, sons Tom Jr. and Michael, mother Alma, sisters  Brenda Loschiavo and Robin Loper and four grandchildren. Debbie is an EMT with the Bright Fire Department, and Tom Jr. is a firefighter.

Visitation and funeral services for Stevens will take place at Bright Christian Church, located at 24457 State Line Road in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. The visitation will be March 20 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. followed by the funeral.
