VCU offers tips on hitting the road with the Rams

March Madness is here! VCU is traveling cross country to San Diego, for their first game, on Friday. The university is working hard to make sure you don't have to jump through hoops to enjoy the game.

There are several watch parties planned right here in town, but the school also has a suggestion for a one stop shop if you want to make the big trip.

The national exposure is priceless.

"It's huge," said Jim Schell who graduated from VCU and now lives in Houston. "When you see these guys on television...people from all over the country...people in Houston now know what VCU is. I used to have to explain it is Commonwealth not a community college."

Jim's son, Jake, has a message for the team.

"Wreak havoc!" exclaimed Jake.

Home Team Grill in the Fan is one of several locations holding a watch party on Friday. They are expecting a capacity crowd of more than 200 people.

"People know that they are going to put on a good show," said bar general manager Andy Hall. "We more than double the staff on these days. It's tough to get a ticket to any of these cities to see these games. Why not come to Home Team?"

VCU says fans looking to make the trip should consider contacting Anthony Travel. They are a one stop shop.

"That is correct," said Joe Wunderlick with Anthony Travel. "Car, hotel, and air fare as well. We can assist with any of their needs."
