LOUSIVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Mixer Direct is a company in Louisville building mixers and tanks. It's also one of the 12 companies that were awarded by the Chamber of Commerce for their quick growth on Wednesday.
"I don't think people in Louisville really understand how great it is to be here," Mixer Direct CEO Mark Franco said.
The company employs 31 people, including a videographer. Franco said being located in Louisville is part of their success.
"Great mix of partners, of technology, and kind of a great cost of living here, we can have a great life at a low price," he explained.
Dave Durand of Forest Giant was also at Wednesday's event. His app company also got an award.
You may have seen Louisville Love. It's one of Durand's. Forest Giant's clients don't only include start ups. "We'll also work with huge companies like GE appliance or aviation," he said.
The chamber said the success of these companies translates into success for the city.
"It means jobs, It means revenue, it means creative energy, it means to attract other companies and attract other talent. It's just phenomenal," GLI's EnterpriseCorp Executive Director Tandai Charasika said.
The 12 companies have aggregated revenues of $117 million and 421 jobs and are expected to add 196 jobs and make investments of $7 million in buildings, property and equipment.
