LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two men threatened to shoot people on a TARC bus after a verbal altercation with the bus driver, reports said.
According to reports Leslie James Winfrey, 20, and Thomas Dequan Simpson, 18, got in a verbal altercation with a TARC bus driver February 23 on Dixie Highway after the driver would not let them pay student fare because neither had a student ID.
Reports said the two became angry and the driver asked them to get off the bus.
Witness said that Leslie flipped up his coat, showed the driver a gun in his waistband and repeatedly said "You are going to get this bus shot up."
Reports said that Simpson said to step off the bus so he can show the driver what he would do.
According to reports the two walked out the back side door then walked back up front behind a female who was boarding. Police reports said the diver closed the door on them and each produced a handgun, pointed it at the driver and the passenger then tapped the barrel on the glass door.
The incident was captured on video surveillance.
Leslie James Winfrey and Thomas Dequan Simpson are being charged with terroristic threatening, wanton endangerment and menacing.
