Police scanners and radios went silent marking the death of an officer

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Police scanners and radios in the metro went silent marking the time of death of an officer nine years ago.

At 9:30 a.m. March 23 scanners and radios were silent for Officer Peter Alan Grignon who died in 2005 after serving only two years with LMPD.

Officer Grignon was responding to a hit and run call when a teenager shot him, then turned the gun on himself.
