LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man is accused of stealing copper from the construction site of a nonprofit agency.

Louisville Metro Police say Douglas Church, 52, entered the American Printing House for the Blind using a contractor's code and stole a spool of copper. The theft was captured by video surveillance.

Church was an employee of a sub-contractor working for the nonprofit. The copper belonged to another sub-contractor.

After taking the copper, LMPD said Church then sold it to ISA Recycling on Grade Lane using his real name and ID.

Church was arrested March 24 on a charge of burglary. He remains in custody at Louisville Metro Corrections.
