LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – When the car he was driving needed a jump, a man asked a police officer for help. However, police learned that he should not have been driving the car in the first place.

According to an arrest report, Wyatt E. Thompson, 24, of Louisville, flagged down a Louisville Metro police officer to help him jump his car March 26 around 11:30 p.m. The officer discovered that the vehicle was actually stolen March 18 from Nikki Auto Sales.

The warrant says Thompson was listed as the suspect in original stolen report which stated that Thompson took the car for a test drive and never returned it. Thompson however, said he did not steal the vehicle. The arrest report says a witness at the dealership listed Thompson's information on the theft report.

Identification and social security card belonging to Thompson locked in the glove box of the care. A large amount of clothes was found in the trunk.
